Today we had a boat drill with our free fall boat. This monthly drill has a few elements:
General alarm and muster, instruction, instruction inside the boat, test all systems like the release mechanism, the motor, the air bottles and the sprinkler. The sprinkler can only be tested while the boat is the water and that is what you see in these pictures. The purpose of the sprinkler is to keep the boat and the people inside cool when the ship and surroundings are on fire. If the boat is lowered, what we try to do as often as possible, it is best that conditions are calm. Today was a real calm day with some fog and ideal to perform these tests.
